UEFA EURO 2024 GmbH founded as a joint venture
The German Football Association (DFB) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) have today founded a joint venture for the UEFA EURO 2024 tournament in Frankfurt, Germany.
The new company, UEFA EURO 2024 GmbH, will be responsible for the planning, organisation and execution of the tournament, which will be held from 14 June to 14 July 2024.
DFB President Bernd Neuendorf said: "The founding of UEFA EURO 2024 GmbH is a significant step towards the successful hosting of the European Championship in Germany. We are confident that, together with UEFA, we will organize an unforgettable tournament for all football fans."
UEFA President Aleksander ÄŒeferin said: "UEFA EURO 2024 will be a special tournament, and we are delighted to be working with the DFB to make it a success. We are confident that UEFA EURO 2024 GmbH will provide the necessary expertise and resources to deliver a tournament that will be remembered for years to come."
The UEFA EURO 2024 tournament will be the first to feature 24 teams, up from 16 in previous tournaments. The matches will be played in ten cities across Germany, including Berlin, Munich, Dortmund, and Hamburg. The final will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
UEFA EURO 2024 is expected to attract over one million visitors to Germany and generate around €1 billion in economic activity.
The founding of UEFA EURO 2024 GmbH is a major milestone in the preparations for the tournament. The new company will now begin the process of planning and organising the event, including securing venues, hiring staff, and marketing the tournament to fans around the world.
