Adam Bennett Schiff, born on June 22, 1960, in Massachusetts, spent his formative years in the Bay Area of California. After graduating from Monte Vista High School in Danville, he pursued higher education at Stanford University and Harvard Law School.

Schiff's political career began in 1996 when he was elected to the California State Senate.
